Piken Sander has lived her life in the Western United States, but travelled across the country and throughout the world a bit before settling in South Central California some years ago.
Although college-educated, she never took an actual 'writing course', prefering rather to expand her mind by learning throughout life from everything and everyone. She resides in her cluttered writer's home, kept company by a collection of hundreds of books, a dozen treasured teddy bears , her assortment of glass, ceramic, and brass bells, and the necessary writer's cat who occasionally deigns to answer to Sage.
A lover of nearly every kind of music on the planet, Piken is herself a closet blues singer with a low, throaty voice and a knack for singing sad, pensive songs.
Piken is a an empty-nester who loves to read and write, her true passion being words, and she loves to pass on her experiences and perspectives to the next generation of creative souls.

I am pleased to announce that first-rate editor Robin Leigh Anderson, founder and moderator of readandcritique.com (by membership only) has signed a three-year contract to edit my works. Ms. Anderson is a marvelous writer in her own right and has won awards for her own fiction and nonfiction, my favorite the story of her friend Sam who survived 9/11 in the World Trade Center and what the affermath did to his life. My collaboration with Ms. Anderson will assure that my work will be of the highest caliber as I begin the new fiction series for which I am under contract. Her understanding of and facility with grammar, sentence construction, syntax, and voice can only take my writing to the next level. Welcome, Robin, to my mad world, and may the next few years bring us both much success!
